McDonald’s Festive menu

Hello fellow foodies! I don’t know about anyone else but November just snuck up and took me by surprise. I’ve been super busy between uni deadlines, the Christmas rush and of course trying to find delicious food for you guys to check out. When I started this blog I always wanted to focus on smaller businesses as I think after the pandemic they deserve the most exposure and support however this week I wanted to show you a couple items from the McDonalds festive menu. I always find myself comparing food I eat to McDonald’s, I just can’t help it. I’ll hear myself saying “well that was a nice burger but I probably would’ve got one just as nice for half the price at McDonald’s” although a lot of these food places I’m checking out these days have their own uniqueness, making it a lot more difficult to compare. I wanted to check out the McDonald’s festive menu as not only did it sound and look great, but with the festive period approaching or maybe for some it’s already in full swing, I thought it’s a good start to trying the Christmas specials that many if not all food places do on the run up to Christmas, a ballpark point so to speak.

McDonalds have expanded their menu with a range of festive food. They have covered it all, for hot drinks they have added a chocolate fudge latte which sounds delicious but coffee just isn’t my thing, if anyone likes coffee be sure to try it out and let me know what it’s like. I was also excited to see they had done a deluxe hot chocolate as they have regular hot chocolate all year round but never seem to get it right it’s usually too watery, anyone else with me on that one? They have added two new dessert items, the celebrations McFlurry and the festive pie, it was my intention to order a festive pie which is filled with mincemeat and custard however with a big family comes a big order and I usually forget at least one thing although I’m not sure if I would’ve enjoyed it or not, it sounds like a strange combination to me. They have added two burgers which are the festive chicken and the festive stack. They also added cheese melt dippers which are my all time favourite, unpopular opinion but my least favourite dippers they do are their mozzarella dippers so I was excited to see their cheese melt dippers back on the menu which also meant the return of the tangy tomato dip.

I indulged in the festive stack which consisted of two British and Irish beef patties with a red onion relish, white cheese sauce, bacon, crispy onions, red onion, lettuce, cheddar cheese in a glazed brioche style bun. After eating McDonald’s often, which I have to admit I tend to eat it more often than I probably should, the regular menu starts to get slightly boring so it was definitely a delicious addition and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think they should add deluxe burgers like this to their menu full time or even add a couple of their toppings to their menu full time such as the crispy onions. I had a side of cheese melt dippers with the tangy tomato dip which of course as you can probably guess they were delicious, if I had any room in the burger I definitely would’ve put a couple into it. I will insert a picture below however McDonald’s presentation of their food, I do not rate and I am not a photographer but I do promise it is a lot nicer than it looks. I could say it looks just as delicious as their marketing photos.

Keep your eye out for my other blog posts coming up to the festive period, I’ve spotted lots of festive menu items to try throughout different places including festive pizza and festive sandwiches. As always, leave me any recommendations to try. Let me know if you check out the McDonald’s festive menu and what you think of it.
