McCarthy’s Crossgar

Hello fellow foodies.  Hope you all had a great weekend. It’s starting to get a lot colder outside isn’t it? What’s better to warm us up than a good hot chocolate. I don’t often sit in as you can probably tell if you are a frequent reader of my blog, I’m more of a takeaway person. Today I decided to treat myself and sit in a lovely cafe for my breakfast. My cafe of choice was McCarthys in Crossgar, a local family run coffee shop and sandwich bar. It is such a modern, cosy cafe with good vibes all round.

I got a small fry, which of course I forgot to take a picture of but take my word for it, it was delicious. The small fry consisted of an egg, sausage, bacon, potato bread, soda bread and a tomato which was all cooked to perfection. I also indulged in a hot chocolate, my favourite drink for the winter months which warmed me up in this cold weather. If you drink hot chocolate often you may understand what I mean when I say it tasted like an expensive hot chocolate, for reference McDonald’s hot chocolate tastes cheap and bad quality whereas this hot chocolate tasted rich. It was topped with cream and mallows, does it get any better?

Be sure to check out McCarthys Facebook page here where you can see their menu and their daily specials.
