McCarthy’s Crossgar

Hello fellow foodies.  Hope you all had a great weekend. It’s starting to get a lot colder outside isn’t it? What’s better to warm us up than a good hot chocolate. I don’t often sit in as you can probably tell if you are a frequent reader of my blog, I’m more of a takeaway person. Today I decided to treat myself and sit in a lovely cafe for my breakfast. My cafe of choice was McCarthys in Crossgar, a local family run coffee shop and sandwich bar. It is such a modern, cosy cafe with good vibes all round.  I got a small fry, which of course I forgot to take a picture of but take my word for it, it was delicious. The small fry consisted of an egg, sausage, bacon, potato bread, soda bread and a tomato which was all cooked to perfection. I also indulged in a hot chocolate, my favourite drink for the winter months which warmed me up in this cold weather. McDonald’s Festive menu

Hello fellow foodies! I don’t know about anyone else but November just snuck up and took me by surprise. I’ve been super busy between uni deadlines, the Christmas rush and of course trying to find delicious food for you guys to check out. When I started this blog I always wanted to focus on smaller businesses as I think after the pandemic they deserve the most exposure and support however this week I wanted to show you a couple items from the McDonalds festive menu. I always find myself comparing food I eat to McDonald’s, I just can’t help it. I’ll hear myself saying “well that was a nice burger but I probably would’ve got one just as nice for half the price at McDonald’s” although a lot of these food places I’m checking out these days have their own uniqueness, making it a lot more difficult to compare.
